We hope you can join us for an exciting, up close, live, and extremely interactive “hands on” experience about reptiles and amphibians from around the world. Education and a unique style of humor is blended to form a totally original experience for all attendants to our family event.
There is no cost for admission, and the doors will open at 5:50. The show runs from 6-7:15 pm. Following the show, our Book Fair will be open until 8:30. We have quite a selection of books on reptiles, dinos, predators, and even cute little puppies and kitties!
The Fall Book Fair is open the week of October 5th-9th. Each classroom will have the opportunity to visit the Fair and take a look at the huge selections of books. If the student doesn’t have any money with them for the classroom visit, they will be given the opportunity to fill out a wish list with the books they found. They can revisit the book fair to make purchases later in the week if they need to. Parents are welcome to meet their child’s class at the fair to help them shop, or you can stop in for some secret Holiday shopping anytime during the week.
The Book Fair will also be open during our Family Night Event, Tuesday the 6th, when the Traveling World of Reptiles comes to give an exciting and informative presentation on reptiles. The show will run from 6-7:15 pm, and the Book Fair will open following the show, until 8:30 pm.
Another chance to visit the Book Fair is during our Donuts with Dad event, Thursday the 8th, from 7-8:30. Students can bring their favorite male figure in for free donuts, coffee and other beverages, and browse the shelves in the book fair.
The profits earned from the Book Fair bring in hundreds of new books to our school and classroom libraries, in addition to providing online reading programs all students have an opportunity to use, as well as adding some cash to the PTO coffers. We thank everyone for their support of the PTO and the love of reading in our students!
Please join us for the very first PTO meeting of this school year. We will be meeting Monday, August 24th, at 4 pm in the school Library. There is much to discuss at the start of the year! There will be an update on our financial status and what we have available in funds. We will be checking in with our various committee heads to see what assistance is needed from the board for their various tasks. We will be discussing the new volunteer managing system we have put in place, and how to utilize it best to increase volunteer involvement and streamlining coordination. We will also be talking about ways to increase our social media exposure to benefit the families of Cotton Creek and the PTO to allow for better communication and participation. In addition, there are some beginning of the year spending that we will be seeking approval for. To be able to vote on any decisions, or make a motion on an issue, you must have a PTO Membership Form completed and the $6 dues turned in. This can be done by clicking the “Join the PTO” link at the top of the page.
Children are always welcome at our meetings. We hope to see you there.
The start of the year Scholastic mini-Book Fair that was open at Meet and Greet is extended online. Between now and August 31st, your purchases will help add more books to our school & classroom libraries, and a percentage finds its way into the PTO coffers too! Best of all, if our goal is reached, Scholastic raises the percentage of which we profit on our two big Book Fairs in the Fall and Spring.
Simply go to scholastic.com/fair and start browsing!

Thank you to everyone who shopped at the Mini Book Fair during Meet and Greet. We got so close to reaching our goal to give us an additional 10% bonus on profits at our 2 big annual book fairs, held in the Fall and Spring. Reaching that goal will add more than $1,000 to both sales’ profits, so we’d really like to hit our target.
Therefore, we are extending the Mini Book Fair until September 2nd. All orders will be delivered to the school, and then sent home with your child. Please visit Scholastic and purchase a book or two and help us reach our goals!! Click on the link below for easy shopping:
Thanks for supporting Cotton Creek!
The PTO is hard at work planning the events and fundraisers for the current school year. Cotton Creek is filled with amazing families who support us so many ways. This year, we are kicking the year off with the 2 Hour Power Pledge. We are hoping each family will pledge to volunteer at least 2 hours of their time over the school year, helping in the ways they are most comfortable with, at the times that work best for them. Please fill out a Volunteer Form listing the various ways you would be willing to help and have it turned in by the end of August.
During the Meet and Greet, August 12th 3-5pm, be sure to stop in the cafeteria and see the PTO On Parade. We will be showcasing the many great things the PTO has done in the past, and what is planned for this year to benefit Cotton Creek and our families. Meet the Board members, learn about our committees, find out where help is needed, grab some info about upcoming events, and fill out a Volunteer Form. There will be snacks and drinks set out, and a mini-book fair open to help us start another amazing year of community participation.
Hope to see you there!
